Weihsin Gui received his Ph.D at Brown University and his areas of teaching and research are postcolonial
literatures and theory, contemporary British literature, and cultural theories of nationalism, transnationalism, diaspora, and
globalization.
He has published essays and reviews in the Quarterly
Literary Review Singapore, the Journal of Postcolonial Writing, andNovel: A Forum on Fiction. He is currently co-editing two projects:
a special issue of the journal Diaspora on “Diasporic Subjects and
Transnational Forms,” and a critical anthology on Singaporean poet
Arthur Yap called “Common Lines and City Spaces”. He is also revising
a book manuscript entitled "Residual Nationalisms: Postcolonial
Literatures in a Global Moment", and is working on another project on
critical realism and ethnographic fiction.
